Heavy Bleeding Menstruation

Heavy Bleeding MenstruationIf you are being controlled by heavy bleeding menstruation during your periods, there are some things that you need to know about before getting overly worried. The first thing you should know is that heavy bleeding is common in women that have a hormone imbalance. This doesn’t mean that you are suffering from a severe medical condition or anything like that; instead, it just means that your hormones are a bit out of whack and steps should be taken to get them back into balance again. There are numerous ways of doing this that will help you.

Heavy Bleeding Menstruation

There is no reason why heavy bleeding menstruation should control your life for a week out of every month. The normal amount of blood loss should equal around 2 to 3 tablespoons and no more. If there is more blood loss than 3 ounces during your period, then you might want to talk to your doctor about it. A full exam can be done to determine if you have any abnormal uterine problems such as a cyst or fibroid polyp. These polyps and cysts can cause bleeding even when your cycle hasn’t started yet or cause over bleeding during your period that makes it heavier than normal.

Heavy Bleeding Menstruation

Heavy bleeding menstruation can be solved by taking the pill. The pill is a hormone replacement therapy that stops you from getting pregnant but can also affect the frequency and amount of blood loss during your period. If you do not want to get pregnant, then taking the pill will help you to slow down, or even stop, your monthly cycle. There are also IUD’s that you can use that will help with heavy bleeding. If none of this works then you might have to look into getting a uterine ablation in order to slow the bleeding down.

There is one more thing that can help with heavy bleeding menstruation that should only be used as a last resort and that is a hysterectomy. This is a severe thing to go through and should not be taken lightly. You will have to prepare yourself mentally and physically in order to make it through a hysterectomy and you should consult your doctor with any other aspect that could be used before turning to this. There are plenty of other avenues that you can try before going to something as drastic as having a hysterectomy and you should look into them all.
